Beloveds at Christ Lutheran,
Just a few words of introduction. since we'll be "walking and working" together in the coming months. Because my last name is difficult for some folks, please feel free to call me Pastor Linda. I am a second- career pastor, after having worked as a registered nurse for nearly 20 years. I was ordained 35 years ago and since my retirement in 2004, have been both supplying and serving as interim pastor here and there. In fact, this will be my twelfth interim position.
I consider myself a spiritual pilgrim, always open to learning and not at all afraid of questions, since I believe God has a heart big enough to make room for those of us who don't live in certainty. My favorite parts of ministry are leading worship and preaching, and providing pastoral care (visitation, etc.)
Personally, I am an avid reader and I write, mostly poetry. I've self-published two books of poetry, as well as a biography of my dad's wartime experiences, drawn from his own memories. I have been privileged to do some traveling over the years but at this point in my life, I'm just very grateful if I can get to see my children and grandchildren occasionally.
I plan to be in the office at church on Wednesdays, from about 10am until 1pm. Wednesday afternoon I'll use for visiting, though of course I'll be available for emergencies. I ask for your continued prayers for me, as I will surely be praying for each and all of you.
Come join us for thought provoking sermons and warm fellowship.
